Why Alternative Mental Health Treatments?

  • 85% of individuals find alternative mental health treatments appealing due to personalized approaches. (Source: National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health)
  • 92% of individuals believe that holistic treatments are important because they treat the root cause rather than just symptoms. (Source: American Psychological Association)
  • 68% of U.S. adults supported the legalization of marijuana by 2021, indicating a more accepting attitude towards alternative therapies. (Source: The Pew Research Center)
  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) underscores the importance of holistic approaches, as evidenced by the increasing integration of mindfulness, yoga, and other complementary practices into mental health treatment.
  • The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) reports that mind-body interventions like meditation and relaxation techniques have shown promise in managing anxiety and depression.
  • Data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) suggests that medical cannabis has been associated with symptom relief in conditions like chronic pain, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
  • The Global Drug Survey reports that around 15% of respondents who used psychedelics reported improved mental health symptoms, illustrating the potential impact of these substances on psychological well-being.
  • According to a study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only about 35% of individuals experience significant improvement after receiving traditional talk therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or psychoanalysis. Data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) suggests that medical cannabis has been associated with symptom relief in conditions like chronic pain, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and depression.

In an era of evolving mental health awareness, traditional treatments are proven inadequate. People want better healing for their emotional, psychological, and behavioral suffering. Talk therapy alone doesn’t help everyone. Traditional psychoeducation doesn’t help everyone, neither does mental health counseling and pharmaceutical drugs. The Westernized mental health industry has been statistically ineffective for much of American history. However, cannabis has been used to heal spiritual and emotional wounds for thousands of years. This is recognized ancient history.

We incorporate traditional therapies alongside alternative therapies to provide you an alternative approach to healing your mind. We offer personalized care, a focus on the mind-body connection, and innovative techniques to address the core of mental health challenges. Our intention is to provide you an experience that is more appealing, personal and can lead you to work through your mental health in a positive and healthy way using holistic methods.

Exploring the Synergy

Cannabis Assisted Psychotherapy is an integrative approach that combines the wisdom of psychotherapy with the potential healing properties of cannabis. This approach is grounded in the belief that when used mindfully and responsibly, cannabis can act as a catalyst for profound self-discovery, emotional processing, and personal growth. With this type of therapy, A happier mind can be only a few inhales away.

How Does it Work?

Professional Guidance

Our Cannabis Assisted Psychotherapy is provided by licensed therapists who are experienced in both psychotherapy and alternative healing methods. We provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for you to explore the potential healing benefits of cannabis while working on yourself. We call this HAPPY LAND.

Our program is designed and overseen by Sonia Singh, LCSW, LCADC, PHD candidate, also known as The Happy Therapist, who is the founder and creator of The Happy Clinic. She is a double board licensed psychotherapist who has been practicing in the mental health industry for over 15 years. She began her journey to heal people with cannabis after being trained by SAMHSA- The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration through a specialized training program, and then spending nearly a decade working in traditional state and grant funded mental health and substance abuse agencies. She recognized a social need and a disparity, or unfair treatment conditions for mental health sufferers who could benefit from a legal alternative medicine to stop their suffering:

“I wanted better for the people around me, especially my clients. They weren’t getting the right help and were suffering. Over time, I realized that I felt wrong for referring people to do things that repeatedly didn’t work for them. I then went along the path to spend many years training to create a safe space and a program for people to get help with cannabis and their mental health at the same time.”

Mindful Integration

Cannabis is carefully integrated into the therapeutic process. Rather than using it solely for recreational purposes, our program focuses on the intentional and controlled use of cannabis as a tool to enhance self-awareness and facilitate introspection.

Tailored Approach

Every individual’s journey is unique. Our therapists work closely with you to understand your needs, concerns, and goals. Based on this information, a personalized treatment plan is created, outlining the frequency of therapy sessions, the types of therapeutic techniques to be used, and the integration of cannabis.
